Thread: Bed style seating movie theater?

  1. 05-21-2012 07:28 PM #1
Saw this posted up online somewhere but with no details, I know its in the NJ/NYC area just wondering if anyone can provide anymore info with this type of theater? First time seeing anything like this and would love to try it out.

I wonder what they charge, at what point is it just better to wait and buy the blu-ray and watch at home.

It has to be 20 bucks a ticket for that.

It's quite far from the NJ/NYC area. This theater is in Malaysia. They are calling these types of theaters "Beanie Plex" cinemas.

Here's their website > TGV Cinemas

That is what I thought also. About as close to a bed without changeable sheets as you can get. I would feel like I was contracting a skin disease the entire movie. Probably easy to fall asleep during a movie though

While the amount of bodily fluids in those bag chairs wasn't bad enough, the addition of bed bugs would make it even worse..

    Edison, NJ has these..

    How it works..

The West End theater near here has those as well. You can order alcohol up there too I am not bothered by the recliners as much as the bed type thing.

They just opened one like that in Boca Raton, FL called iPic. They have food and wine service for the first 20 min of the movie. An "artisinal italian" style restaurant & nightclub are attached.

Is this the Muvico with the "21+ only" section with a bar? I wanted take the drive up to this theater to see Avengers, but $25/person not including drinks and food scared me off.

meh, I'd be down watching a kick ass movie for that price and accommodations.

While vacationing in Bangkok Thailand the wife and I decided to go to the movies to see "Underworld: Rise of The Lycons". I was surprised how the seats were almost like lazy boys
with cup holders. You can almost recline all the way back as the row separations are really wide. Also, the sound system was unbelievable as well and not to mention the huge screen. I was like why don't we have this back in the USA?

worth it if they include an overnight stay in the price of the ticket so as to save on hotel money when traveling.

Yea. I'm in Vietnam at the moment and the movie going experience is a little better here. The screens here in HCMC are about average. VNese people talk to much while watching movies. I do like that they offer more comfortable seating and that each seat is preselected. Like when choosing your seat at an airline. The wife and I always get the “couples" combo package. The package includes sitting on your own small couch with two cokes and a popcorn for 15$.

    "Bye book!"

A bed would creep me out, period!

The recliners are a nice idea, but sometimes put me in a dark, cool room after some food/beverage and occasionally it's lights out. I can nap at home for free

Cine Bistro in Miami, assigned seating, they take your meal and drink orders right until the previews start, anything else you want once the movie has started, you leave the theater and order in the lobby.
