    MK2 rear speakers don't fit!

    I imagine my rear speaker trays have been swapped at some time. They're unaltered, but 4x6's are too small and the 5x7/6x8 Infinity Kappas are too big for the factory mounts. Anyone have any ideas? Do I have to run a dedicated 5x7 instead of the 5x7/6x8 compromise? If it helps any, the trays also have the stock cut-outs for shoulder mounted seatbelts & the vehicle in question is a '92 Golf GL. Let me know what you all think.

    What kind of 4x6's are you installing? A lot 4x6's come with plates that you will need to mount them. Do you have any pics??

    I believe I had 5x7's in my old Mk2 Golf.

    I thought 5x7's only fit in the trays without seatbelts.

    Ok thanks. I ordered a set of true 5x7's since the infinity 5x7/6x8's I had were too big. We'll see if that works.

    Well true 5x7's are still to big for the mounting posts so I guess I'm gonna have to fabricate a mounting adapter for 4x6's.
