Lots of music deaths in the past week. Robin Gibbs. Donna Summer. That guy from Crowded House. And Chuck Brown.
I'm throwing this post up here for CB because as a child of the 80s and as a child of the 80s who spent a few years in the DC area, his music was a big influence on my musical tastes. Influential Jazz and Funk musician from the 70s who had a major influence on hip-hop and go-go in the 80s. E.U., Rare Essence, and countless hip-hop and soul artists in the late 80s and early 90s. So many great tunes from this man. Bustin' Loose, I Need Money...
Does this drum break sound familiar?

And my personal favorite of his, That'll Work. A funky go-go cover of Deodato's version of "Also Sprach Zarathustra"
RIP Chuck
