Yes you will need a different tune. IMO, go big or go home. KO4 isnt worth the hassle, and they love to bend stock rodsI like my APR, but others will pull for REVO and Uni

So I'm pretty sure my next mod is going to be a chip and then eventually going to upgrade to a ko4. So my question is if I get a chip will I have to get another chip for the ko4? .... And I know this might spark some debating but, what's your opinion on the different brands for chip tuning ?
Thanks !

Yes, you will need a revised software file made for the K04, as they require larger injectors, MAF Housing, etc. Unitronic offers a great upgrade program for users in your situation. You can start out with the Unitronic Stage 2 Software flash and upgrade to the Stage 2+ for $100 when you decided to go K04. Uni's Stage 2+ K04 software requires OEM TT225 (386cc) injectors to be run at 3 bar with an OEM TT225 MAF housing (retaining the stock sensor).

If you have a stock K03, I can say the APR chip was great. If you want a future upgrade to K04 (easy install) make sure the chip maker offers an upgrade discount or at least makes a chip for your car and the K04.
APR does not make K04 software for my 1.8t (AEB) so I believe my choices are GIAC or nothing. I've run an APR chip for 205,000 with no issues other than blowing up my stock K03 after 180,000 miles. The APR 1.0bar runs the new K04, but not noticeably better than it ran the K03. I am going to order the GIAC K04 software in the next couple days from AWE, but I have not decided if I want to go with the PC-16 software and injectors since I have an FMIC but no exhaust. I have not decided if I'm going to keep the ECU with the APR 1.0Bar in it or sell it. I have my original ECU that is getting the GIAC software installed.
