Found a bike I like on EBay, but it is 2,000+ miles away.

forward air has motorcycle crates for rent. drain the bike, wheel into the crate, strap down, lock door, ship. ive had friends use them and everything has gone fine.

ive used FA for crates and pallets a bunch of times and have never had a single issue. ive never shipped a bike this way though.

    just an option.

I actually shipped my BMW R1200GS from Ohio to Arizona last year and did my shipping bid via UShip. I put up a request on there for the bike and gave a timeframe and after weeding through the big shippers and their outrageous rate structures I found an independent who picked it up in an enclosed trailer and dropped it off at my house safe and sound along with about 50 pounds of extra parts. It cost about $500 to get it done but from the time he picked it up until he dropped it off at my house was about three days.

Fly in, buy bike in person and have epic roadtrip back?
I have to laugh when someone calls me an a*****e. I've been called far worse than that.
