      Hey everyone.

Just sold my 04 A4 Quattro, APR tune, wheels, coilovers, all that. Want to steer away from FI to a mk5 R32. Heard great things about them and am checking one out this week. I can't see any for sale in the Aus Region?

Wouldn't mind some advice on a potential purchase and its "FSH" if anyone would mind?

      Cheers

I hear they came with a PEN, not a FSH.

Not really sure what a PEN is opposed to a full service history.

You obviously cared enough to reply mate!

Looking at a 2008 mk5 R32 which has FSH carried out at Online Performance in Hoxton Park (Sydney). The car is now at 64,000km and had the 60k service carried out there too (will check books when I inspect but guy said last service was close to 2 grand), so I'm assuming the Haldex oil and filter was changed. What else is carried out on a major service?

What do you guys think about this FSH? Google tells me these guys do bodykits and are known in the JDM scene. Reckon if I get a PPI at a VAG specialist and everything checks out then itd be okay? Its priced at 30k (rego about to run out and he has just dropped the price) and is SUPER cheap relative to the rest on carsales..

Give Seb who is a Volkswagen guru, a call. See if he can give you a hand on what to look out for. He is located in Girraween which may or may not be close to where you are.

I am sure someone here will be able to give you his number.

PS You are going to need to grow a rhino skin in order to enjoy this place.

      PPS Welcome!

Is it a manual or DSG?
The 1st major DSG service is 60K, just got one done myself.

Despite everything to do with common sense nothing beats a FSH from a dealer for resale.

Cool thanks for the replies! This one's a manual.

Found a Seb from Euro Automotive at Botany? I'll be getting a vw specialist to give it a PPI prior to buying it anyway. Just seems well priced as I get the impression this guy wants to move it quickly.

No, that's a different place. Sebastian (BugRacer) is at Girraween.
      Try this number: 0410-541-322

Another bloke Derek is the owner of European Autotech and located in Mona Vale, which may or may not be closer to you.

I can see I need to hang around here for a bit to understand the humour. Yeah I know Derek, he serviced my A4. I know and trust him and Arthur at Exoticars. I'll give them a call. Im in the Hills district too btw.

Welcome, and to the other R32 pen lovers it was the Mk IV anyhow that came with the Pen

The R32 is a good engine and sounds awesome, shame you want to steer away from the FI as the Audi 2.0T A3 (MY07 and onwards) or the even the more powerful Audi S3 2.0T are also great engines - even a chipped 2.0T A3 will develop more power than a stock MK V R32.

PS in saying that, I know the appeal of the 3.2, it sounds and feels great on the road -I have 2 cars, an Audi with a 2.0T and the other with a VW 3.2 V6 in it (Passat AWD) and I love each donk for their own different characteristics.

Well I am tossing up between a VE SS Sportwagon (bring on the jokes) or the R. Not really considering the A3 as I want to experience linear power and god that exhaust note! Don't really need to take out TLGPs just want a good all-rounder.

      Budget of $30 - 35k MAX.

Mate go the best of both worlds then between the VE SS Sportwagon and the R32 Golf and get yourself either a 3.2 V6 Passat AWD wagon (184kw / 330Nm) or better yet an R36 Passat wagon with the 3.6L V6 220kw engine. (although the R36 might be a bit over your budget but the 3.2L Passat wouldn't be)

Can you stretch your budget a bit ? There is a certain member here with an R36 Wagon that has just been advertised.

      Check "For Sale" thread.

I wish I could mate but thats just too much.
Only appeal of the SS was the 270kw, and dont like the ute or sedan but the wagon is nice.

Looks like I'll see how this test drive goes tomorrow and go from there!

Quite frankly I couldn't care less when the pen arrives, as long as I have it before the lease runs out 5 years down the track.

Why would anyone want a MkV R32? It's not even faster than a MkIV around the Nürburgring.

For me - because it's newer, has less km's and to me represents good value for money. I don't care that its not 1 of 200 or that its not faster than a mk4 around the nurburgring. As stated above, I want a comfortable all-rounder, not out to win TLGPs or put it on the track.

A mate of mine has the SSV ute so I know how they drive and handle. Power is pretty wild but interior is plastic and build quality isnt great. Excited for tomorrow!

And beemers do absolutely nothing for me. No offence to the man you know
