I must say that I had a blast on the run. I was surprised how well my 16v pulled the 3300 lb. Passat through those corners. Other than a pretty blue ring on the outer rim of all four of my rotors, the post drive inspection closed with no major flaws. Thanx to Dave in the Dark Grey 1.8t Jetta for letting me use his radio. If not for the radio, I would have never found you guys again after I split for an early piss break. I wish I could have made it to the HOD but the GF had other plans for us

    So who has the video?
    How about digi pics?

Nice turnout... too bad everyone got lost.
We started with 30+ cars and finished with 15

I have my pictures posted on I-Club since the vortex has been flaky the last 2 days. Good wallpaper size

    http://forums.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=268890

I was kinda disapointed we lost so many people, I was determined not to lose the silver A4 in front of me (sorry forgot your name already) I even had to run a red light to do it! Didn't wanna get lost from the guys who knew where they were going.

I even had a blast comin back down the highway, whoever was in the blue jetta blew my doors off while I was steadily cruising at triple digit speeds Speedometer went to uncharted territories haha wish I had someone in the car with me to get a pic.

I'm already looking forward to doing it again

i had tons of fun, it is too bad we lost people, but other than that and a certain persons run in with the law i think it went very well, except my car started blowing smoke, which you will see in the video when that gets put up, but it has since stoped

  7. 11-04-2002 11:47 AM #7
awesome drive, can't wait to see the video. i just wish that my brake parts came a little sooner. all in all it was a good time. hopefully my car will have 993tt brakes and 400hp for the next gallop, because 300hp was just not cutting it.

I know that me, along with 4 or 5 other TDI's stopped in Prescott and chilled out... Did lunch, threw around some BS, had a great time. Drove back and I hit the Pavillions around 7:30, no dubs cuz they were all at HOD probably.

I also had a problem with my car smoking slightly...

I'm not saying what car we were traveling in, but we busted a nice 130 at one point. I had a great time and can't wait to do it again. I am sure the little brake problem we had will be fixed by the next time.

  13. 11-04-2002 02:28 PM #13
We never hit complete top end. Still had another 1500 Rpm left. Other than that honda outside of cordes junction it was lots of fun

Not to say that I hit 130, but I was trying my best to keep up with the blue Jetta down I-17. I was watching the Tach more than the Speedo. I just know that when he would take off I'd drop it in 3rd, bury the tach then drop it in 4th, bury the tach again, and about half way through 5th, we were slowing down. Damn I love to speed!

Here's some pictures from the last Cottonwood run
    The 10th Cottonwood Run

    Pretty Blue tail lights:

Cooling down after a hard run up the twisty roads:

    Almost there:

We stopped at this place, all the non-TDI drivers called it a "gas station". It's where they fill up on "gas" and check the functionality of their "spark plugs" and other strange alien devices.

    GTI:

    Top 'o the morning:

We shared with the motorcycles road that day too:

The TDI cars parked while the owners are perplexed as what to do while everyone else is filling their cars up with a fluid like substance at the "gas station"

    Brian and his wife:

we are working on getting it compressed enough, shooting for about 30 megs for 10 minutes of footage... i will be honest with you, there isn't alot of coverage, it is only incar video from inside the S4, it's cool just probably not as good as everyone thinks.
