I was looking to pay some $ for a very small weld job which I posted here on SW Vortex.....John (who I didn't know, and wasn't aware of SE) offered to do it for free...however not looking for free was also ecstatic to find out SE was just down the street. After a small inquiry on install labor when I showed up the first time and discovering what astronomical good deals for part installation I was kicking myself for not knowing about him sooner. Dizzle! I was delighted! What good karma that he offers his service in good faith.....and gains my business in turn. Everything I didn't want to do myself just as I hate doing certain things and sucks not having a lift, and some things I don't do (like weld), where a fantastic price and skip away. I had a couple small things done while I gathered thoughts and parts to complete the projects.
I had visions of gummy bears, rainbows and lollipops and started off on a list of grander. Then medical leave happened and the bad news hit. He was easy to work with, easy to communicate with and didn't b.s..... well anyways....kinda getting off track here....
So...I have sent a labor inquiry to one of the recommendations on his site, yet honestly since it's more of a professional business think labors going to be ridiculousnessesesees.
Any one have ideas for local ~small time private shops with comparable rates?
Thanks!

to be honest, other than Johnny the only other shop I trust working on my car is Derek @ Exklusiv...Jason London as well but he works at a dealership so the rate is going to be higher...
Of course I don't know all of the newer shops and they might be great, I just have always had a very easy and pleasant time working with Derek.
