I am curious. It appears that the prop shaft lengths of audi TT MK1's and R32's are different? I don't have the R32 driveshaft to compare to my TT, but can anyone else confirm this?

I am putting haldex in a MK3 and in the process of collecting everything for the rear, but just want to see if I have options in case the length will not work for me.

    Thanks!

I can't tell you how much shorter it is, but I do know that the TT has a shorter wheelbase than the R32.

thanks, I found a picture that confused me and turned out the axles were mislabeled. Looks like the R32 and TT differ by about 3-4" in length.

All i can tell you is..... on a MK3 vr6 using a 2004 R32 haldex prepeller shaft/Haldex, the shaft need to be shortened about about 60MM, if the Audi TT is about 3-4 inches shorter than the R32, than i think the propeller shaft may be a little to short to fit and have the rear wheels center in the rear wheel well.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll have to play with this and see what works best for my application. I'll know more when I get the passat rear beam mounted. The engine was moved forward by about an inch to provide clearance for the trans, so I may need to adjust that accordingly once everything is in. Updates to follow, but not until the fall.

    Wheelbases:
    Audi TT quattro 2002: 2429mm
    Audi S3 2002: 2512mm
    VW Golf R32 MkIV: 2517mm

I put a rear assembly (diff + Haldex) from a MkIV R32 on my 2001 TT quattro without any problems, but I didnt change the prop shaft.
(I assume, without knowing, that the prop shaft of the S3 will be the same as the R32. Engine/gear box placement might make up for the 5mm "missing".)
