Thread: Bake pads recommendation?

Up until now I have EBC Yellow Stuff front and rear.
Basically, I'm quite happy with their performance, however, they seem to wear rather quickly, and dust quite a bit.
When I got them originally I said, screw the dust, I want brake performance; and basically I still have the same attitude, because stopping is more important than clean wheels. But the fast wear is putting me off a bit. (My car has just about 25k miles, and probably the first 5 or 10k I was driving with the stock disks and pads, before I replaced them with ECS floating, cross-drilled, slotted and vented rotors front and rear.)
So in less than 20k miles the pads are close to needing replacement, which seems a bit little, at that rate some people would need new pads three times per year...

So what are other people using that's high-performance, but has reasonable wear?

    Ceramic pads?? Which ones?

I am using EBC Red Stuff. They do have a reasonable wear, but are also harsh on the rotors. Also, they are supposed to have less brake dust compared to Yellow Stuff.
But you must be braking a lot, having to change the brake pads after 20k

    I have MK4 R32 brakes on my turbo mk3.
Been using EBC yellowstuff since 2009.
They work good when cold and good on the track with no issues. Im happy with the wear on them aswell. Great pads all over.

Well, not really. I can only assume that occasional minor rust build-up on the rotors from being on trips for a few weeks at a time and/or the slotted/cross-drilled rotors do a job on these pads.
Maybe they'd wear more slowly on the OEM disks. Don't really drive super agressive...
