I have a 4 door 2012 GTI with Autobahn package.
Do you suggest to tint all windows the same shade or do the back ones darker. Which looks best in your opinion. Pictures would help. Thanks

What color is the exterior of the car?

The dark interior will make the tint darker, in theory.

I prefer 18-20% all the way around.

I went 5% all around. It's awesome during the day in the hot FL sun, but it's tough to see at night if there aren't street lights around. 15-20% would have been a better choice.

if you want a % that you can use without too much trouble and will be dark enough so that people can't see in, go for 20%.

if you want something that is effective but people can still sort of see through, go for 35%

    here's mine with 35%

I just got 38% all around on my CSG autobahn. Plenty dark for me but not dark enough for the cops to hassle me (Northern VA area).

Check your local tint laws... I went with 40%.

With the black interior, it looks plenty dark. Also, in my opinion, it looks goofy if you do different tint levels on different windows. Just keep it all the same.

It depends on how dark you want it. I prefer 5%. Thats what I put on my R. It takes some getting use tho. On my mk4 GTI I did 15% all around and its pretty good. During the day you can see in decent, but at night it looks real dark. Absolutely keep it the same all around. Its tacky having two different tints.

15% during a real sunny day in south Florida.

In a shady area during the day in upstate ny.

At night in a lit up parking lot.

    5% sunny south Florida day.
