Interesting. Is the E28 that much more exciting than the E34? Up until now I think I like the E34
better though I've never driven anything close to either of them.

got to drive one of these. I can understand how Chris Harris loves it.

But it wasn't my car hero like it was for Chris. I couldn't live with one daily.

Looks like a lot of fun to drive, surprising that he doesn't actually restore it. I'm thinking he's going to drive the nuts off it for a few years then flip it for cash or something else.

I personally think the e28 is much better looking than the e34

when I was looking at getting another car, the only ones in my price range had astronomical miles on them, and its sad how some of their owners let rust get so out of hand

and the wipers the headlights had were amazing

another great clip by chris harris

Chris Harris also loved the Toyobaru Fr-S/86...clearly he is a ****ing idiot.

Not really surprising. Once you restore something like that you immediately alter the terms of your relationship with it. While museaum pieces are wonderful, there's something very romantic about an enthusiast legend with high miles and still in use.

Personally, I'd still drive it daily like a hooligan. I think though it would make me enjoy it even more if the aesthetics were all in good nick with the interior conditioned and so forth.

Agreed on that... a bit of tasteful patina looks good on these driving machines.

It's staggering how much better the european bumpers and lights look on these cars though. Almost a completely different car.

one of the most entertaining cars i've driven. it wasn't mine, but i drove it a lot so i got to know the car very well. that particular example had the later S38 motor in it and had a tri flow exhaust (incredible sound) and dinan suspension package.

the really cool thing about the car is it's versatility. it is a sideways hoot out on twisty back roads but then it is also the ideal comfy cruiser for that 11 hour interstate thrash.

lastly, the car is also classy in a distinct old school way, a mature attitude like a tailored suit. chick magnet, yes...cop magnet, no...very few cars achieve this. none of that 'new bmw doucheyness'
