Hey All,
New 1st time [VW] owner of a 2012 GOLF R, just delivered today, put about 70 miles on it. Even bought my son a matching car seat. [Pictures to follow tomorrow.]
Question: Has anyone dyno'd their bone stock Golf R? I was thinking of having it done for my one base case. I've heard through the dealer rumor mill, that it is rated off the books upwards of around 270 bhp...anyone discover this?
I'm thinking of adding a boost gauge for starters.

I personally wouldn't do a dyno, it might lead to heavy chafing.

I've dyno'd mine here in Romania and gad 272 bhp. For Europe VW claims 270 bhp. So all good here![]()
I'll be back

Welcome to the forum. Most people here hate it if you don't search before you ask a question. Congrats on the car. The word on the street is that there are 0 changes from the euro version to the US, so it should be putting down about 270bhp

I think it is actually 270PS. PS means Pferdestärke, translated as 'horse strength'.
So in reality you're talking 266-267BHP
