Thread: home made strut bar?

    thinking about makeing my own strut bar out of some material i have laying around. can any one see a problem with doing this? i mean its just a bar right? and should i make it solid or adjustable? thanks in advanced for anyinput

    Ive made my own before, I'd suggest making it adjustable, much easier to install.

    what material did you use for the bar? i was thinking 1 inch pipe

    Why do you want one? Are you still using stock rubber strut mounts?

    Solid 1"stock and 1" wide flat stock wear it mounted to the struts, this was on my Mk1 convertible, copied TT tunings design.

    I will say it helped a whole lot, I could tell a Very big difference.

    to improve handleing and no i didnt know there was an alternitive. what else is there?

    Assuming this is for your '04; the rubber strut mounts will flex much more than the strut towers.

    You can get camber plates that will eliminate the rubber bushing but will increase NVH a little.
