Automatic transmission to Manual, is it possible?

I have a stock 3 speed automatic in my 85 right now. Eventually I would love to convert to a manual, is this possible? I don't need anything fancy, I'm just sick of automatic.

If possible, what do you think a ballpark estimate of the cost would be? I used to have a 83 Rabbit Diesel and went from a 4-speed to a 5-speed for $1400
