Thread: Severe electrical problems

This started about a year ago when my 03 vr6 24v jetta would suddenly stall while cruising. This only happened a few times and I just accepted it.

However, a few months ago, my engine would stall at any moment; accelerating from stop, cruising, and even startup.

During the last few times I've noticedwhat appears to be complete power loss to the system, electrical and motor. Just yesterday it stalled and the rpm gauge stuttered its way down to zero and my clock reset.

Currently I have 100k miles and there's no chain rattling noise that's any different from normal operating sound.

Any help would be awesome! My obdii does ot show any issues. Will a VAG scan show the stalls?

do you have a cold air intake? last time i saw these symtoms the mounting bracket that held the cold air used one of the main engine ground bolts and since it was loose it would shut off and do the same thing. tightened it up and all was well.
