I currently have Goodyear Eagle GT's on my stock RC's and they didnt seem to last too long. I would like something that is going to last a little longer.

I have read in a few threads that people like the Kumho Ecsta 4x but I was wondering how long those usually last? I am thinking I might have to go with a touring tire like the Ecsta LX Platinum for a long lasting tire. Anyone have any recommendations?

Also, I was wondering if Tire Rack was the cheapest place to get tires for the most part?

    Thanks

Those khumo 4x are decent enough, but if you want an outstanding tire for a similar price, go with these:

I highly recommend Hankook Ventus V12, they came with my 337 and i love them. Way too expensive in Canada but in the States they are pretty cheap.

The continental dws tires that were linked r good tires. I had them on my si and they lasted like 40k miles. They were very quiet and comfy and also great in the snow, buttttt as a performance tire they r garbage. I lost 4 tenths in the quater compared to the all season Michelin pilot mxm4 and noticed on a 180 turn that I normally took at 60 that I was now starting a 4 wheel drift at 55

Yeah makes sense, thats what you give up with a touring tire vs a max performance tire. I havent decided yet because realistically I dont want to put more than 10k more on my 337 so I guess it doesnt matter too much. I probably will have to though. Ideally I wish I could afford a different DD and clean up the 337 for sunny summer days.

Anyone tried the Dunlop Fierce Instinct ZR before? I can get them locally for $529 all said and done and that is the best deal by far, about the same price as if I got the ecsta 4x from tire rack and had them mounted locally.

The dws is listed as a ultra high performance all season not a touring

I've heard great things about the Contis. Had Kumho tires on my Beetle and on our Jetta. Love them. Had Hankooks on my Beetle to start with (not sure exactly which tires they were though) but I wasn't thrilled with them. Weren't so great in the rain and started dry rotting 3 years after installation. I got less than 40k out of them before I had to replace them. And the car was driven.

Nothing's better than a michelin. No other tire will last at least 80k miles. Providing you're properly aligned and frequently rotate them.
Show car scene = Spend money you don't have, on parts you don't need, to impress people you don't know.

No one around here has tried the Fierce Instincts yet? Apparently they are made by Dunlop (which is made by goodyear) but independtly branded. Similar tread pattern to the Eagle GT's but a little better looking.

Anyways the price on them is a steal, and the limited reviews I have read have all been really good, so I might try them out and pass the word along. If not I will probably go with the Kumho's.

I know michelin are the best but to be honest I dont plan on putting near that many miles on this car.
