So first off, I've orderd 2 boost gauge pods over the last 3 weeks and this is a little review compairing the 2 major pod makers for our b6/7 cars, so look it over and make the call.

First pod was a New South performance gauge pod

*This is how this pod has to be mounted*

I installed the pod, The reason I decided to not stick with this pod was because of the fitment.
The pod has to be installed over the oem piece of the steering column, which if the mold is even just a bit off, wont allow it to seat far enough back. The problem that I had with this specific pod was that when I turned the wheel... it would actually catch the bottom of the pod and lift it off the steering column.
I tried to push it as far back as i could, and the fitment was still too far off to make it work.

*On the left side of the hole cutout, I absolutely couldn't get that to line up, I would have had to use glue or some sort of epoxy.

*you can see how it dosen't line up, even with me pushing it*

The Second pod I ordered was a podi, When the scratch and dent sale came up... I jumped all over it (I think one of the first to order as winston actually refunded me $10 because he originally posted them for $30 off (what i paid) then he changed it to $40 off, I recieved an email explaining that even though i had already paid, That that's not how they do business and I got refunded some money.[]

*notice that this is a replacement for the top steering column piece, not a cover, you actually screw the 2 pieces together like they were intended, and there is even cutouts to mount the hood behind it.*

Here are the install pics of the podi, There isn't much to say other than the fit and finish was exactly like it should be. Really a quality piece.
and not to mention, I ordered it thursday mid-afternoon, and it was on my doorstep the next day (today) around the same time!

*see how it lines up, no way with the other pod*

It was so much less of a hassle to get the podi pod in, litterally 10 min and all was good, In my honest opinion... If your gonna get a gauge pod, stick with a podi, less headache and super easy to install, The nsp pod might work in other cars, maybe the one I got was just a bit off, and they hopefully aren't all like that. But the ease of the podi was worth that extra bit of money.
I learned the hard way about doing it right the first time or doing it twice (thankfully it was with something that was less than $100)

My podi pod I got in the scratch and dent sale and here are pics of the blems. ( I laughed to myself because they weren't even that noticable.. I wouldn't call it a scratch and dent item by any means. )
    (LOOK REALLY HARD!!!)

feel free to post up your stories or if you have a nsp pod and it fit like a glove... feel free to share with the community.

At this moment in the industry I did not notice anybody have a better designed unit than Podi.
The reason I have it, and the only reason anybody should is that it replaces the OEM unit and mounts into existing hardware, just as manufacturers replacement peace would.
I have it now for over a year. The only thing I would say about it is that the color is slightly off. But than I am extra picky when it comes to things like that. (it does not bother me on daily basis)

the color on mine is pretty good. Personally that piece is stuffed back almost all the way into the dash, and you don't see it, but i'm more than happy with it. and will continue to stick with podi products from now on!
