With the timing belt off, the cranksahft was moved before the timing marks were made and now i need to find top dead center on the crankshaft. the marks are there for the cam pulley, i just need to find the correct way to line up the carnkshaft with no marks made. i know where to look on the flywheel, but what i'm i looking for and what am i looking to line up ? i've been researching this heavily on this site for two weeks and have yet to find a solution to this problem. i'm here in tampa, fl and really need help getting this car running. i bought this car with 70,000 miles on it and the water pump just went bad, i just replaced the serpentine belt, thermostat, timing belt tensioner, timing belt, and collant temp sensor all for the first time. any help on this would be appreciated, as i want to drive this car well into the 300, 000 mile club! vw for life!
