I'm surprised the belt stayed together as long as it did:

Really really really really really bad...there is not an inch of surface space on the belt where it isn't cracked. And oh yeah, this one was installed in 1993 by previous owner when the original one snapped while driving. I have proof of that with all paperwork that came with the car.

While I was at it, I took care of my vibration-at-idle issue:

Moral of the story (which we all know already): change the timing belt as soon as you get the car, especially you 16 valvers. My previous owner told me he changed it right before I bought the car late last year, and he flat out lied obviously.

Enojy the rest of your Memorial Day weekend!

Hey, Rob, why are you resurrecting a thread that was started in 02? He says the belt is 9 years old and was replaced in 93.

Kidding aside, I'm gonna replace mine monday. It doesnt look like that but it's a bit cracked looking and I'm doing a bunch of other stuff including mounts and v belts.

Wow, so apparently my math skills go WAY out the window when I have some alcohol before making threads, lol. -smacks forehead-
Sorry for that guys! I meant nineteen years (duh). I'll leave the original post as it is so everyone can have a good laugh.

I think I want to frame the belt and hang it on the wall in my garage. The cracks are real deep and it almost feels like its going to literally crumble in my hands now that I have it off the car.
