FS: vag com HEX-COM+CAN dongle & old (battery dead) laptop

I sold my '02 jetta... no longer in need of this awesome tool. It served me well! Saved me numerous trips to the stealership.

NOTE: this is the version that requires a 9 pin serial port (NOT USB). I will throw in an old thinkpad with this if you want it. Note the laptop battery is dead and you would need to use an extension cord.

It's an old crappy ibm thinkpad pentium II and the battery is dead, only works with an extension cord.

CORRECTION: this is a KEY COM dongle not HEX COM+CAN.. SORRY!!!

So it appears this will not work with a newer VW that requires direct CAN bus communication for diagnostics. BUT, it can be upgraded through ross tech for $159. If you are still interested let me know. I could send it in and get the latest HEX COM+CAN interface, and then pass it on.

This new interface retails for $349, so I would be willing to take $259 ($159 upgrade cost + $100). This would save you $90.

But if you have an older vehicle that does not require direct CAN communication for diagnostics, it will work fine. Check Ross Tech for what your vehicle requires.

Payment sent awhile ago... I wanted to thank you for being a good honest seller. I did happen to stumble upon this ad with zero views and I appreciate you giving me a chance. So many people on this forum either try to get the highest bidder or in a rush to get $. I've actually been refunded money I had already sent out on a vagcom because the seller sent his paypal addy out to several buyers and let them race to pay him.
