Well I've been having the idea popping in my head that I will be planning on heading from West Palm Beach, Fl to Sturgis, South Dakota for the annual bike event that happens every 1st week in August. I'll be on a Triumph Street Triple R heading to Boulder, Colorado first then up to South Dakota.

Any one else on the lounger planning some long distance trips? Chime in

    Cheers

Detroit to various places in Colorado and back. Various places along the way in South Dakota and Missouri, too. Camping mainly with biking, kayaking, and hiking tossed in.

You're doing all this on a motorcycle? By the time the road trip is over you'll be able to take it ITB and not even feel a thing.

Heading to Greenwich, CT on Thursday for the Greenwich Concours. We're flying, the car's being trailered. I wouldn't have a butt-bone left after driving that far.

Does Sao Paulo, Brazil to Newark, NJ to Philadelphia, PA to Munich, Germany in 28 hours and the return trip 2.5 weeks later count as a long distance trip this summer?

    ..I haven't driven a car in 60 days.

Taking the Passat to Washington DC in a few weeks. I might drive the S4 out to Pike's Peak in July too.

Not super long, but I have a 300 mile round trip to Cape Cod and back planned this summer on my Yamaha Zuma 125. It can't do highway speeds so it's going to be all backroads. Should be a fun ride.

I was pretty close to picking up a nicely sorted CVPI to turn into a road-trip-mobile for our trip out west to visit family this July, but it looks like we'll end up flying instead due to the missus' schedule. I think it would have been a lot of fun.

I'll most likely be heading out to Colorado for NSXPO in September.

    Should be an awesome time.

Just drove from Las Vegas to Texas up to central Illinois. I'll probably go up to Wisconsin, then Minneapolis, and then back to Vegas later this summer as well. I might also be driving to Florida and back from Illinois as well.

2 hours isn't really long distance, but I'm flying into Boston and then driving up to NH.

In terms of road trips, yes: planning a trip from here down south, to Freiburg, then a stop at the Bodensee (Lake Constance), over and down through Garmisch into Tirol for a couple nights somewhere near Innsbruck, through the Brenner Pass into Sued-Tirol in Italy, some nice, windy mountain passes thrown in, with Lake Garda as the final destination. Planning to take about 9 days for this trip. Hope to have the Boxster here so taking it instead of the GTI could at least be considered...

If I take 2 days of vacation on July 2nd & 3rd, I get 9 days off. Thinking about finally doing the LA to SF trip along PCH. But I definitely need to get the APR RSC exhaust cuz the drone in my current S4 exhaust is driving me nuts!

I'm thinking of driving from Windhoek to Dar es Salaam. But since July is winter here, I don't think it counts.

I am driving out to S.F. from Chicago and then on to Seattle in my STi. There I meet up with a friend who is loaning me his KTM supermoto. We then ride around the Pacific northwest for 3 days. After that, back home to Chicago(in the car). Should be great.

Nothing too great; just an 8-9hr trek and back in 3 weeks. I made the journey without issue in my ol' '97 cirrus(don't hate- it got the job done) 2 years ago and believe that the accent should make it successfully. I'm just not really looking forward to it as the seats aren't optimal for long distance travel. Of course i really want to take the other car but, you know, lucas and fuel costs and all that.

Good luck on the S3R. I had an 09 Graphite R that is no more.

I'm driving my new car down to Orlando and then Ft Lauderdale in two weeks for a 9 day vacation. I don't have enough time to get all of my new parts installed and dialed in, however.

Drove from SC to CT (700+ miles 1 way) two months ago to visit home for 3 weeks... next week SC to MS (600+ miles). There for a few months and then off to somewhere after that. Hoping for CO but might end up going to DC.

    Three Road Trips this year:

Minneapolis to Detroit next weekend for the Grand Prix.

Minneapolis to Hot Springs AK, to Memphis, to Nashville (Lane Motor Car Museum) to Bowling Green (Corvettes) to Dayton OH (US Air Force Museum) back to Minneapolis in July.

and a good one in the fall is Minneapolis to Elkhart Lake in October for our Race Team's Chump Car Race!
