1991 Nissan Skyline GT- R R32 170000 Km. Super clean original car with no mods. and never accidented. 2.6L twin turbo 24 valve 5 speed, all wheel drive, 4 wheel steering, turbo timer, turbo boost controller, 2 brand new upgraded Garrett turbos. Mint condition.. Car was purchased in Ontario and it can not be plated in Quebec.

Looks extremely clean...what can you all tell me about them? Reliable? Easy to work on? Parts availability? Specs?

Wait, how is it an "original car with no mods" yet it says it has upgraded turbochargers?

It'd be smart to scoop up a few nicer examples of these now while they're cheap in Canada. Then sell for 2x what you paid for it when they become legal in America.

In some parts of Canada (soon most of them) winter/ snow tires are mandatory. Every vehicle on the roads must have them. It saves lives so I'm down.

So it's completely stock except for aftermarket turbos? wait what?

I love how bland the interiors in those cars were. For something that was so capable, you'd THINK they'd take a few extra minutes and make the interior a bit less... grey.

Those cars were fast in the 80's but in today's standard they are just average..They are nothing special.

What's wrong with driving a Skyline in the winter...?? It's a car and meant to be driven and i'm pretty sure Nissan didn't forget that people would drive it in the winter when they built it. But to each his/her own.

purchased in ontario can not be plated in quebec? Canada has different importation laws by province?

The price is right. Since it can't be resold in Quebec (where the picture was taken), they seem to be willing to sell it on the low end of the market to get rid of it to a lucky buyer in Ontario.

Obviously they've done something with the engine/tuning, but having seen a whole bunch of gaudily modified Skylines with terrible body kits, this at least isn't visually "modified."

Also, Quebec requires winter tires from December to March or so. Temperatures can be cool even from November to May, depending on where you are, so some (cheap) people just run them all year instead of changing over.

Quebec is basically its own country. It has its own immigration system and pension plan separate from the rest of Canada.

But all provinces have some latitude in what vehicles are allowed to be registered, safety inspection requirements, etc. They made a decision a few years back to put restrictions on resale of RHD vehicles. It's actually probably sensible as far as Quebec goes. RHD does carry some potential issues in a LHD country.

I've had some friends who have had a few of these. GT-Rs and GT-ST R32s (iirc). There are a number of hard to find parts for the RB motors. The cam angle sensor being one that i remember the most. People are always parting these engines out online but parts go quick! Other parts are hard to find as well, but you can usually find a domestic part that will work just as well or better than the oem. Iirc the coil-on-plug is nearly impossible to find but you can us GM coils from an LSx. Anyone with more recent knowledge feel free to correct me as it's been years since any of my friends messed with these.

thanks Mike!, i had no idea that canada was like that.

Eh I don't know about that. Rb26dett with a little turbo upgrade is 400+ awhp. Thats a pretty quick car even by todays standards.

Why would we want an overhyped car with almost no replacement parts and the steering wheel on the wrong side?

    Almost no replacement parts? Seriously?

    It's not a Saab.

I know it's not a B5 S4 so you don't see the merit of it, but it's a pretty awesome car.
