Absolutely astounding. He just clipped the first guard rail (which took out the oil pan), completely cleared the road and second guard rail, and landed on the bottom half of the hill.
I'm almost ready to call bullhsit, I don't see how he could have carried that much speed, for that long of a distance, up that steep of a grade.

So, was the air horn playing 'la cucaracha' instead of 'dixie' as it went airborne off that embankment?

Volo! Volo!, Nunca toco la segunda valla!. It does appears that the eye witness confirms the truck did fly over the road and only clipped the first guardrail and the other road after.

    More after the jump!

That was a long run-up to the overpass. Must have been going at quite a clip well before he hit the grass, because it looks like the grass didn't slow him down at all.

    Here's my thoughts.

Turbo blows, sends hot oil in to the intake. Oil now powering the truck instead of diesel fuel, so engine starts to run away. Driver can't slow down the acceleration and is trying not to let the engine freewheel, so he tries to control it. Gets out of hand and driver panics, tries to get off the road. and then the video occurs.

    That's my hypothesis.

I'm guessing he fell asleep with the cruise control on...

But how could he have carried enough speed to clear the road and guardrail and then stop so quickly? Is there a tree in front of the cab I didn't see?

I would bet the nose hit the ground.
If you pause right when it starts, the trailer is all jammed up on the cab.
But all that means is it was a beautiful arc of a flight, one that lends itself to a heavy motor and empty trailer.
I just hope nobody was on that access road/onramp where it landed.

    Nailed it!

Anyone who has ever ridden a motocross bike has looked at those over-passes and thought "I could clear that on a bike" well this guy finally stepped his game up with a tractor-trailer.

    Looks legit, but......

i bet he lost his brakes, decided the incline would help stop him so he pulled off, was carrying way too much speed, became airborn
