Headlight Question

So I know I have the HID bulbs with rear projection on my MKV. I'm getting ready to replace my headlight fixtures in entirety due to the fact they are 6 years old and they are due for replacement.

Now, I'm looking at this head light, Magneti Marelli Headlight Assembly. It states in the product notes "Twin Halogen w/Gas Discharge DS2 Bulb". All I know is my lights are the HID. You turn them on, they are dim then charge up to brightness in a second or two. They point at the ground, then come back up.

Would this be the right fixture that I'm looking for? It seems to be, based on the picture.

What is wrong with your current housing? It will be much cheaper and easier to buy a polishing/restoration kit than to replace the housings...

Well, first off the silver ring inside is no longer in position, and it has slight damage on it from an auto accident, stress fractures, and all of a sudden in the past week, the horrid oxidization of the lens has appeared rapidly and aggressively.
