As the competition is not affiliated with SAE itself, they cannot call it a Formula SAE event. But its the first "full" SAE-style competition in Canada started by some ambitious University of Toronto FSAE alumni. I say full since Toronto has hosted a "Shootout" since 2003, which is just a day of autocross competition. This event runs like a normal competition with static and dynamic portion. They got a 20+ car entry with ultimately maybe 15-16 cars made it to run. Teams from US, Canada, and Finland(!) competed in the 4 day event at Barrie Molson Centre.
As an alumni from Toronto I figure I should go and check it out so I made it in on Saturday to watch the autocross portion of the event. I believe Finland's UAS Helsinki won overall at the end.
