obd2 vr6 into 94 cabrio..... any help???

so the cabrio already had a obd1 vr6 that was swapped by the previous owner. it was tired beat up motor and i had a obd2 vr waiting to be swapped. so now i have everything together and it dosnt start... turns over acts like it wants to start but dosnt.

my question is will i have to swap in the obd2 ecu or anything else to make this run. currently the obd1 ecu is whats in the car now. is the wiring up top any different between the obd1 and 2???

any help would be appreciated as i am a noob to volkswagens.

Yes the harness and ecu has to be swapped.
