A half million dollars for 0-60 in 5secs and one of the worst front ends ever made..
#6
Wow, that thing is what nightmares are made of. What kind of drugs would make somebody think that looks good?

They should have spent more time perfecting this car. A Lancer Evo 8 could do a better 0-60 and it had only 276 hp.
#9
there is NO WAY that car had 497 horsepower with a 108 mph trap speed![]()

no wonder all the kids went crazy over this car lol, look at the potential per dollar

The rear quarter shot, aside from the exhaust area, looks pretty good actually. Very beefy, and fenders/sides are pretty nice. Aside from that...

I'll take the Pike's Peak.

Not Stillen...RMM built this car. My first car was a 7th celica; totally awesome and underappreciated car. Light weight, was one of the best handlin front wheel drive car at the time, and the 2zzge (and to a lesser extent, the 1zz) were awesome engines in this car.

I was going to say that this isn't exactly fair, as the Celica was only FWD, but then I read that they swapped in the Celica All-Trac AWD.
Maybe he didn't launch it, and it was more of a 5-60. The 5-60 time of a Boss 302 (444hp) is 4.5 seconds, not that far off the mark, really. Accounting for bad gearing and turbo lag..

just needs a new name... celicabruzzi perhaps???
seems a bifurcurious kind of day between this and the panoz mess in the other thread...

This was simply a design and engineering excercise. Something for Toyota to show off at SEMA and tie in their IRL/CART participation at the time. It should come as no suprise that not much developement time went into the car, most likely 99% of the distance covered in the car was going along at under 10mph.

I love that they were using the OEM alltrac clutch. Surprised it broke?

I'm always right. The sooner you realize this, the easier things will be.
