It's impossible to know if they can be used because we don't know what they sent you.

RockAuto. I'd buy from European/VW specialist sites like MJM or ECS. They will be better at determining what parts are right for your car.

No. you need the proper 3/2/G/R32 calipers.

Not to rub salt in your wounds, but this is why we order from places that actually care about the end user.

German autoparts gets my money every time first. If they don't have it then I check MJM Autohaus, then if still negative, I reluctantly go with ECS..

The caliper should fit and work just fine, if you use your hanger. The major difference is the paint.

    germanautoparts.com.

they don't offer free shipping, but they seriously have the absolute best customer service in the entire industry.

prices are very competitive as well, usually offer oem and other options.

I am almost 100% sure that the Rotors are different if its not a 3/2/G its a solid rear rotor versus a vented which is wider which is why the caliper is different as well.

Because of this, If the pads are the same (which they are) and the rotors are much thicker (which they are), then how on earth could the calipers possibly be the same?

Sorry, I was wrong about the pads, I can admit my mistakes, but everything else is about to be addressed:

And to put this to a rest with all the misinformation being thrown around in here...

    3/2/G
    Calipers (rear)
    1J0615423E
    1J0615424E

    Rotors (256x22)
    8N0698601B

    Pads
    1J0698451R

    Regular MK4 cars
    Calipers (rear)
    1J0615423G
    1J0615424H

    Rotors (232x9)
    1J0698601C

    Pads
    1J0698451R

As you can clearly see, the 3/2/G rotors are not only bigger in diameter, but substantially bigger in thickness, hence different calipers.

Ironically enough, 3/2/G and regular 1.8t/VR6 cars share the same front calipers and pads, but different sized rotors and caliper carriers, but the 2.0 and TDI MK4 use completely different front braking stuff that isn't compatible with anything...

Is that all you wanted? You couldn't do it yourself, to back up what you thought was right...?

It shouldn't take part numbers to see what you can physically see for yourself and is plainly obvious if you actually looked at these cars. But what do I know, I mean, I've only had a regular model jetta for 6 years that I put a full set of 20th brakes on, and then after that car I got my current 20th for the last three years...
