Kia Sorento facelift spotted on the Nurburgring

Despite releasing a modest styling update for 2013, Kia is preparing the fully facelifted Sorento for the 2014 model year, and here are the latest spy photos taken at Germany's Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit.

Seen here heavily camouflaged and pushing the limits of the highly suspended crossover, the facelifted Sorento will receive a fully redesigned front bumper fascia, grille and headlamps similar to the style already seen on the Kia Cee'd hatchback. In the rear, new tailamps and rear bumper fascia will complete the mid-cycle refresh.

There are no major changes expected to the engine options which currently consists of two diesel and two petrol units, but perhaps we could expect a bit of tuning to boost power and reduce emissions.

For what it is, the Sorento is actually pretty fun to drive. I'd rather be driving it than the Soul I have this week, to be honest.

From the look of the picture, that was right at the end of the reinforced banking, isn't there sort of a crest right there there the banking flattens out?

Why?

They don't go there pushing for laptimes, but it is a great place to see how the vehicle acts at the limits and to test stability control functionality.

Even appliance vehicles have to be tested at the limits to make sure they don't have any ugly handling characteristics that would get someone into trouble on the street.

Still higher than any speed I see around here in the Northeast. 65 is considered fast for a speed limit on certain highways. Although the average speed is more like 70mph no matter what highway your on and I typically do 80.
