People here have a tendency to rehash/repost opinions from others, without ever experiencing the subject that they are degrading firsthand.

When the last gen STS debuted, it certainly was not tops in class in interior appointments. When it received it's MCE, the exterior and interior styling/materials were tweaked to a more upscale standard. Truthfully, the STS' downfall was it's overachieving slightly smaller brother.

Sort of, the Lincoln MKS is a bit more modern then the now discontinued STS (still available in China also as a SLS) as it has received a recent update.

However, the Cadillac is much more powerful at 469 HP and it's on a RWD platform then the MKS Ecoboost which is on a FWD/AWD platform.

I'll take the chiseled Art & Science styling, V8 engine, and RWD over that warmed over Taurus with whale mask, any day.

My point was that if the Taurus SHO is being compared to the STS-V then at least compare the same car in Lincoln guise. My point was also that they do not compare well.

is it wrong that this thing reminds me of a modern day Impala SS('94-'96)?
For the record, i drove an MKS with the ecoboost engine, it was a very pleasant car to drive, felt pretty damn fast too. I'd rock one.

I don't know what's wrong with the S2000 interior either, they're nice enough.

Try a 240sx with no carpet, no headliner, no A/C, and a dash that's been cut up for a cage, then daily it 80 miles roundtrip for a year.

I do too. There is something oddly appealing about a grandpa sedan with that much power, especially with supercharger whine. And since you don't see these around too much I like that someone down the street won't be driving one too.

I think the word you're looking for is "libel". Don't use either unless you know what they mean.

What's up with the attitude, anyways? Your response to your coworker as well as the vehicle description you entered reeks of chest-thumping douchebag. Most of us here like all cars equally, and I don't think his comment about your car was unkind at all.

Okay, you are correct, slander is verbal and libel is in writting I agree. But what I don't agree with is your spelling for ANYWAY...pretty sure is does not have an S on the end. No attitude from my side, just having some fun. Maverick and I don't have a beef, we are just egging each other on because he has a German car and I have an American car. I'm not going to lie, I actually love German cars and I have been very close to pulling the trigger on the TDI Diesel. I should have bought it when they put it in the Passat! The only reason I left a description is because I thought car enthusiasts would like to know what the car is equipped with and my car will back up my statements. I will attach some pics so you can take your jabs at it! No hard feelings from my side.

Anyone interested, let me know. 568Hp at crank. Hugs the road better than my Vette. Too many cars and I need to free up some space in the garage. Over $100k invested into this car with a $77k sticker price new. Selling for 1/3 of what I've invested into this car.

I had some time with a press loaner STS-V. The interior is better in person than the pics. It's big and heavy and feels it--as in, it doesn't feel anywhere near as fast as it is, nor as sporty as competitors like the Jaguar XJR, which is another big, heavy, powerful sedan with limited interior space.

From what I remember of other press comments, it's a car the media wanted to love, but it left folks kind of cold.

After reading this I hopped on craigslist... lookie what I found. Dude's craigslist post.

    http://flint.craigslist.org/cto/3216496518.html

Frankly, I think the OEM STS-V looks way better than the modified tails, cheap-looking wheels, and red interior. . . but 32k for 570ish hp is pretty serious.

Yeah... You can get a 2002 E55 for way less than a STS-V.

Yeah, it is down about 100 hp, but I would probably go that route. Not to mention a 1st gen CTS-V can be had near 20k and those have LSx potential, plus a manual trans.

My old man had an STS-V when they first came out (2006?)...he never keeps a "daily-driver" for more than a couple years, but had a really hard time letting this one go...albeit it was traded (with probably less than 10K miles on it) for a CTS-V coupe. The STS-V interior does look better in person, but the main thing is (at least for people in their 50s-60s) it DOES look a bit Grandpa-ish, but is a total "sleeper". It was a total blast to drive...even being so heavy and bulky.

And yes, it was nice knowing that only one other guy in town (at least purchased from our dealership) had one.

Really cool cars for older fellas, but I'd be more inclined to drive (for quite a bit cheaper) a CTS-V coupe or wagon!

This is the only picture I could find of it (probably all on some old cell phone):

    The carpet pissers did this?!

M5 is brutal on gas and would scare the hell out of me if something went wrong.
I have no idea the reliability on the E55 or gas mileage however....

I'd prefer a stick in the eye to both, but I'd buy an out-of-warranty Cadillac ten times over before I'd buy an out-of-warranty BMW.

Is it weird that I kind of wish they made a DTS-V as well...

Not that I'm the person who would ever drive such a thing, but because it would be interesting for it to exist.
