02j in mk3

hi folks,im going to eventually be swapping a 02j in my mk3 with aba engine.i know i need an 02a rear trans mount bracket.im kind of confused on what front engine mount bracket i need as i have read different answers.what exactly do i need?do i use a b4 passat tdi front motor mount bracket or a mk3 front tdi motor mount bracket?thanks,walt

Your stock front mount will work fine. The mk3/b4 tdi mount is heavier duty. I went through 2 ABA mounts on my 1.8t/02j swap.

oh ok so the b4 tdi one will work.i picked one up on here to use.for the reverse light do i just change the connector on the harness since the mk4 one is D shaped and mk3 is square?and what bout engine rear mount braket..stock auto or do i need a manual one?

Just unscrew and swap reverse switches.

As long as the b4 mount is the same style "puck" as your mk3 you will be fine. Is this an auto to 02j swap? If so I am not sure of the minute differences between auto and manual mounts.

Just use all ABA 5 speed mounts and you will be fine

yeah im going from autotragic to 5 speed.its not a immediate project.well im going to use the b4 tdi front mount bracket.so i can use a mk3 reverse switch?i know i can use the mk3 speed sensor to?
