    lower timing chain guide rail

    So today im going to try to replace the lower guide rail. I have replaced the top and put it back together now my question is do I have to take off the top parts intake mani valve cover upper cover again or will I be fine just dropping the tran and such thanks for reply!

    You wont be able to change the lower guide rail without removing the chain. You may be able to just remove it off the lower gear on the crank shaft and sneak it up but you'll want to make sure its at tdc cyl 1 regardless.

    Otherwise just take the covers off

    The chain has to be removed before removing the lower guide rail? I thought it just slid right out

    Lower guide rail chain needs to come out to remove. Lower tensioner doesn't need the chain to be removed. You'll see when you get into it

    Thank you for your reply/answer. One last question I have to remove the upper chain before removing the lower right?
