This is complete and total crap. Why are my teacher Facebook friends posting every day counting down the days until they get the summer off? $60K+ with a pension and full benefits for a job with 180 work days per year is what my friends with 20 years in the system make. None of them do squat in the summer. They're at the beach every day.

Well, he also said or "Other online degrees." Most Universities these days offer online degrees. Particularly Masters and some PhDs since a lot of people are busy working and it is "easier" to just view the lectures online and turn the papers online.

Sorry, but a Masters in Elementary Ed from an online eSchool is a junk degree that the teachers unions have jammed down our throats to get their rank & file hefty pay raises without really doing anything for it.

Out here in corporate America, we don't honor most internet degree mill course work. An internet PhD is a true joke.

Wow. 20 years in and you begrudge them $60k a year.

Most teachers have work to do in the summer. I doubt your friends are at the "beach every day," but even if they are, they're the exception.

Teaching is a fairly thankless profession, as your post demonstrates.

I cannot think of a single teacher I know who has any degree from an internet-only school. I know several who took online courses offered by one of the three local universities, and one who took some correspondence/online work from the University of South Carolina (USC, but I'm sure most would think that "University of Southern California" instead), but none of those institutions are "online eSchools" or "internet degree mill" universities.

In any case, if an educational program is accredited, what do you care how the classes are taught?

I got hit on constantly by my homeroom/english teacher my senior year. She was new and I was the oldest in her class. I got to take her car out to get food and all kinds of stuff for her that year.
