It will take you 30-45 minutes to go from MIA to Port Everglades, if you're there for a few days I'm not sure what the difference between 30 minutes or 1.5hrs in traffic is.
Transport options are Tri-Rail from MIA to Dania Beach/FLL and then I don't know but they probably have a bus from the train stop to the port.

ok so ama be going on a cruise with RCL leaving out of Fort Lauderdale.
The routing is scheduled to be Fort Lauderdale - Labadee/Haiti - Falmouth/Jamaica - Cozumel/Mexico - return to Fort Lauderdale.
My question is what are the travel options from say MIA to FLL and travel times? I'd like to rent a car in MIA or FLL and drive around a couple of days before the cruise leaves. What's the travel time from MIA airport and Fort Lauderdale, where the ships port from?
If I fly into MIA and need transp to Fort Lauderdale, what are the options.

Look into GO shuttle. IMO it's the best mix of speed and price ($21 between MIA and FLL areas)
