How's this for a home parking lot in a country with a population of just 9 million and only 270 Phaetons (and that includes 22 owned by VW and 2 by the Swedish National Police)?

The first thing of note in that photo is how much better the old rear light design looks! Or is it just the angle (I've yet to see a new one)?

Ah! Sorry... The two cars in the middle belong to my neighbor and his girlfriend. They do show both good and bad taste, don't they?

Well.. as this seems to be a pretty much male domintated forum I'll risk the sexist observation that if the Phaeton belongs to your neighbour's girlfriend, she at least shows good taste in some things... although I'm still not sold on her taste of tail lights.

Okay, the beamer is hers... As for the 2011 and later taillights, I and my wife saw a pre-production car in Dresden just before they shifted production to that model. At that time I found it a total catastrophy. I have since revised my opinion. It looks rather nice, especially from straight behind.

In the lot picture there are actually three types of taillights; the original with lighter red, the facelifted with darker red and the totally new design on the 2011. Some people prefer the original and I kind of lean towards it myself.

The headlights is another story. The original is, in my opinion, not good looking at all. The facelifted headlights that I have on the 2008 lifts the car miles in apperance and the newest is a notch cooler still.

I will most likely change my headlights to MY 2008 ones. I lose the swivel-as-you-turn function - really cool stuff that I have on the 2008 - but I can live with that.

    Rant, rant...
