Not the water pump, that's located on the timing belt side of the block. I wanted to say Secondary Air Injector, but it looks too small...

Hey Guys,
My wife's 2002 1.8t jetta is leaking coolant. I popped the hood and identified this part as the culprit. It was kinda "pumping" the coolant out of a leaky seal or something where the hose connects. it's located right between the radiator and the engine. Is this the water pump or something else entirely? I've worked on her car and I used to have a passat, so i'd like to try and fix it myself if possible, just need a little direction. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
here is where it is located:
and a little close for clarity:
sorry for the huge pics, I couldn't figure out how to use the image thing.
thanks!

Yeah I've ruled out water pump seeing as that is no where near this, nor is the mystery part connected to the timing belt. It seems to be pumping coolant, so maybe aux. water pump, i'll try to check that out. Does anyone know of a good site to look at parts diagrams? Thanks
