So here's the thing: the drain plug is fine. I guarantee the threads are rolled and cut properly for the drain pan. You probably had some **** in the threads OR put it in at the wrong angle and cranked it hard enough to start cross-threading it. No offense, but this is not their fault. You didn't take the time to clean and chase the threads or more likely... didn't hand-tighten the drain plug properly before cranking on it.

Lesson #1: hand-tighten fasteners to make sure the threads are good
Lesson #2: put down a bucket and towels when doing an oil change

Go buy a new oil pan from ECS and a tube of Silicone RTV sealant. That's gonna run you close to $100. Buy your new jug of oil. Replace your pan and do your oil change and move on. Consider it a slightly expensive lesson of why you shouldn't force bolts into holes.
    science: it's for real.

Ive had the same one for about 3 years now, i never had an issue man. Did you finger tighten it before torqing it down? The pan its only aluminum so it def will strip pretty easily.

i can't stand when people make these threads saying this company or that company ruined their car even when it sure sounds like the OP didn't install the product correctly

ecs products have been good to me and many others on this forum

This. If you know someone more mechanically inclined (perhaps your dad) maybe you can get someone to retap the thread for you. Only maybe though, If you ask nicely and not threaten to sue.

Clearly you cross-threaded the drain plug when installing it. Look at the angle at which your OEM drain plug is now sitting.

When we see oil pan/drain plug thread failure like this, it is usually due to the soft aluminum. Over time the drain plug threads in the oil pan "wear" and or become weak especially on older models.

One thing others have mentioned going to a hybrid oil pan, this a common upgrade for those that have experienced this problem in a stock oil pan.

Drain plugs don't strip oil pans, people do.

What do i do, if a product has STRIPPED my oil drain plug? This is the least place i expect to have problems.
    Bought this:

Magnetic Oil Drain Plug With 10 Copper Washers - Priced EachES#5386
14x1.5, includes 10 copper seal washers

the problem i had is, i was screwing it in and it got tighter and tighter as i kept turning it. It got so tight to the point to where when I pulled it out, it was stripped!

No, i did not over torque it. Because it stopped screwing in half way.

If i had the money for a lawyer, i would totally sue their company. unfortunately, all i am left with is stripped drain plug. Help!

did i buy the wrong size drain plug? or is it their fault?

    thanks let me know

I feel real sorry for the company that sold you this plug and has to take this type of feedback.

    Fixed!

I went to do an oil change last week, the threads galled half way out... Tightened it back up, topped off the oil and went in and ordered a replacement.

    **** happens, move on.
