Agreed... the stock head unit blows. throw a Delta 6 in there (looks virtually the same, but better) and you will be amazed at the improvement.

This is way off topic. If Volkswagen of America and Canada were smart...they would make another 5000 or 10000 of these R32's with aristo's and the MKIV body. They would sell so fast it wouldnt be funny. OF course that wouldnt happen. The newer body looks terrible and resemble a Honda Civic very very much. The side profile of the 2012 Golf R looks so much like a civic its not even funny. Bring back the box style look VW!!!!! The rims on the newer GTI with those big round circles looks like an Egg Poacher.

How about no. Funny thing is thats what everyone sad about the MK5. The MK4 is deff a "classic" in my eyes but the body is deff starting to look Aged. If they would make an "R36" in the Golf Body style with a few motor upgrades, such as Camshafts, a larger than the 3.2 Manifold with changeover valve..if keeping it N/A Or perhaps a turbo version, would be the way ahead if keeping the 6 Cyl theme

I know the advantages of the 4 cal but IMO the point to why people love the MK4 is the sound and the stick shift. Frankly if VW would of taken qualities of the MK6 R and used either a 3.2 or the 3.6 motor, Euro Seats etc, it could have been a nice upgrade to the MK5. if staying with the 6 Cyl.

It could of been cool. My 2 cents.

    Ummm....the Mk4 is NOT a box style.

Plenty of MK2 owners hate the Mk4 compared to this-

Fair enough. THe mk2 and mk4 have more in common body wise than the new style. I love both mk2 and mk4.

The delta 6 looks the same as the factory radio, but the screen is larger, the adjustment buttons are recessed (pop out when you press them), no tape deck (WOOHOO), shows radio station and song names on the display and sounds MUCH better!!

I'll be selling mine shortly if anyone is interested. (not cheap)

What about the radio that VW made for the mk4.5? It had Bluetooth and a USB built in? There's a for sale thread in the R forums I believe. And I think it looks better then the oe ours came with

I think I'm going to get one, but if i could get an OEM iPod adapter for it that would be better, IMO. I like how it looks as if it shoulda came that way. I don't need a screen for NAVI, although it would be nice. not too bad for 400 bucks

I considered that one as well. I actually use the disc changer though (I may be the only one). Keep us posted. Supposedly in that thread its been reported that this OEM+ headunit sounds better than the Monsoon..
