If an OBDII scanner won't read it, then you need VCDS:

1993 Jeep ZJ 4.0
World Automotive
Need any VCDS (VAG-COM) diagnostics or coding in the North NJ area? PM me.

Autozone does not scan anymore.
Try blink codes....
scroll to the bottom, option 2

OR, just change your O2 sensors if the CEL is not blinking lol.

from left to right
or, if you're japanese, from right to left.
remind me to never buy an OBD1.

Autozone always scanned my 95 before I bought my own scanner. As long as it has an OBD2 diagnostic port, they can scan it. A lot of early Mk3s have an OBD2 diagnostic port.![]()

For OBDI jump these pins for 4 seconds. Check engine light will blink 1, 2, 3, or 4 times. 4 times.
So you will gets codes like 1122, 1234, 2113, 2114. blah blah blah blah. The report back or google your codes.
