temp sender location

Hello,I tried the search engine and I can't seem to find what I need. I have a 2008 2.5 Jetta. The other morning when I started up and moved few feet the red temp warning lite came on and flashed then beeped. This has happened most every cold start. About 4 times out of the last 5. And never before. The cel does not come on and if I turn the engine off and back on it does not re-lite. I'm guessing the temp sender is going bad. Where is the thing?
