do you happen to know if there is any way to get a hold of the software needed to dyno tune? i know there is some kind of encryption on the ecu or something like that you need to get through.

    Custom tuning is possible.

Typical car owners do not have all the tools/background to tune cars themselves.
    Look here:
    Dimsport.com
    Evc.de

Good luck, some would be 'tuners' cannot tune these cars correctly.

Everyone had to ask once. What a useless exclusionary reply.

if you have the money and time, both jeff @ UM or C2motorsports can dyno tune your car to your specs.
unless you have something crazy done to your car(more then intake, exhaust and SRI) there is no real need for it.

ive got somebody who is a very experienced tuner, although predominately with GMs, who i want to do the tuning, i was just wondering where to get the software to be able to write your own tune on the PE or VE tables.

Uhm, there is NO way any of the companies that have the files are going to release them.

Just go stand alone management. You don't want a GM mechanic tuning your car anyways.

    This goes both ways...

I am sure your tuner is very good at what he does.
The learning curve to switch from GM to VW is VERY steep.
I am sure going from VW to GM is equally as difficult.

Much of the skill in the tuner is his knowledge of the 'box' running the motor and his ability
    to sort the 'small' stuff.

More info: Take a look at Eurodyne's Maestro tuning package. (I do not know if
they'll have stuff for your ecu)
