Thread: Are Jetta rear valances interchangeable?

    Got rear ended in my GLI, and was wondering if the rear valance off a non GLI would fit. Looking to get rid of the red reflectors. Figure now is the time since it's in the body shop..

    All Jetta/GLI ones are, but a GTI/Rabbit won't fit

    It will definitely fit.

    Like a lot of other people, I did the opposite on my wife's 2.5 Jetta when I installed European LED tail lights. The European tail lights don't have rear reflectors (all European rear valences do, though), so I needed the GLI valence with the reflectors. So the opposite of what you want to do.

    The issue will be the difference in the profile of the two valences at the sides, where the rear valence meets the wheel arch. The GLI valence has a fluted profile that matches that of the GLI side skirts; while the Jetta valence's profile is rounded, matching the shape of the Jetta's sills.

    You can get an idea of the difference here on my wife's Jetta, but of course the opposite for you:

    ehh bad decision. smoke the reflectors. or get them shaved.

    I have a smooth painted jetta rear valance, no reflectors

    its sitting in my garage from when I upgraded to a GLI rear valance
