Want to do this so badly to my Outlander, but don't have the stones. Did you work on a spare set, or get these done without much downtime?

Had a backup pair of reflector bowls from a wrecked Fit that I prepped for the projectors, had painted at a body shop, and then did the actual retrofit on the car in about an hour including pulling the bumper and re-installing.

I agree, when the output isn't adequate... do something about it.

The user name change is extremely appropriate.

    Good catch.
After reading the OP, I thought.. "This is something MustacheGt would do to his fit..."

And sure enough, it IS MustacheGt.

..and I am fairly sure having red lights on the front is illegal.
Not that southern cops care. heck, I saw a late model fullsize truck with white tail lights/brake lights (when on- no red/orange tint whatsoever). Cop drove right past....

Nice. The red looks straight terminator!

I need to find some good headlights for my Wrangler. Luckily, I really have to work at it to out drive my headlights.

incorrect. your car can have any approved DOT lighting on it. amber, white, and red. blue, green, purple any other color is illegal.

edit- although im not quite sure about location of colors... the red in the front may be questionable. where is TCL armchair lawfirm?

WHITE brake lights? That can't be legal.

Light color is part of basic traffic safety.
When I see a pair of bright red lights I need to instantly recognize them as brake lights.
When I see a pair of bright white lights I need to instantly recognize them as headlights.
Mixing that up for the sake of "OMG Look at my fawking sick ass ride!!" is just plain stupid and myopic.

Yes, I know about this thing called reverse light.
I had mentioned white brake lights.

    Which are not legal.
The colors I listed were just the basic rules for what was allowed and not positions.
IIRC white can also be used in turn signals.
I think we should require all cars to have amber signals both front and rear, red only for brake lights and white only for forward facing lights and reverse.

Red rings are wired up to a switch. White rings are wired to my running lights.

How did you fasten the projectors to the stock lights? Are they properly installed, or is there any flicker or vibrating light beam when going over bumps? I'd like to see a pic or 5 of the back side.

No flickering or bouncing. It's epoxied to the reflector bowl after a hole is cut to allow the rear to poke through.
