    hello all!
This is my 16v b3 passat wagon.
while writhing around dealing with my heater core the other day, it appears i've snapped off some hose or a valve bit from the vacuum hose leading off of the large vacuum line between the brake booster and the back of the valve cover. there are two lines that additionally come off of that main line, and i'm not sure where this one leads.

    a:

this braided cloth covered vacuum line was laying there in the bay.

    b:
here's what the end looked like.

    c:
here's the other end of the line (braided hose)

d: that hose the braided hose connects to is the vacuum line between the brake booster and the back of the intake manifold.

this car does not have a maf, but does have cruise control. this is not the line that leads to the fresh air/recirc air box in the car. the throttle body has only one line i can find between the TB and the elbow of the intake boot.

where does the end of this thing go?

it is possible that my no start issue stems from this?
(one step at a time, i'll figure out the no start issue later if it isn't this)

    thanks for any help!

the black round piece with the word MOTOR on it; IT IS NOT OEM. someone added that for whatever reason.

i have seen or had 4 passat 16v 5spds and non abs; and none of them looked like this the vaccum lay out for the engine bay...
