      Also ordered a badge less grill today, inspired by "retired's" picture of a badge less grill on his csg ( although I won't be doing the fancy metal filler for the hood....yet. ) ( :

      Did you have to do anything special to mate up your DP with the Magnaflow? When I get my DP I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the 2.5" reduction. Pretty sure I want it to go 3" all the way through, so won't that involve some cutting/welding? Would going through 3" to 2.5" to 3" again actually hurt anything?

      I actually just got the dp today but 4 seasons was ready to put on the magnaflow if I wanted it -I was a bit over tuner budget today so I didn't end up doing it. They did mention some cutting would be necessary but didn't expect performance issues. I must say the dp makes a beautiful noise by itself -

      Right now there is a plastic piece in there that came with the badge less grill. The new grill has some issues though. One of the plastic clips snapped off as soon as I went to pop it on..so it's attached ... But not really aligned properly. Idk may keep it like this , may switch back.

      I had thought about d-badging my car, but one day my wife was driving my R and I was driving her van. I had a chance to see what it looks like with her following me and decided I liked the R badge in the front too.

      Yeah I like the grill look better without the massive Vw badge ... But I think the little R badge must be present!

      Your pics were my inspiration in the first place! Yes I do plan to fill it. I may copy cat your painted wheels too. Thinking I want to put $ into suspension then new wheels down the line. Painting the stock wheels black compliments the csg in a way I really like and isn't to costly.

      I change my mind alot...looking at the tuning budget I am considering painting the stock wheels black ..saving me some money to use on suspension..I am also getting quoted on filling and painting the hood notch professionally

      thanks for the kind words.I painted the stock wheels just to be a little different(and it was cheap for me as I paint cars for a living),plus I haven't found a set of wheels I like.And I only did the hood mod because I had a big rock skip across the hood and take out the window!And I thought that was the time to do it.Plus my boss can do ALOT of work on a friday afternoon when you pay him in beer!

      Check in iMod's thread, he had a "how-to" for attaching the R to a badgeless grille. It did not involve any glue.

      I did not have any tabs break on install, but when I had to remove it for the Twintercooler install, some tabs did break. For anyone else looking to go this route, it might be a good idea to try and support those tabs with some epoxy or something before install.

      dropped my car off for paint (stock wheels, gloss black) and fill and paint the notch left in the hood when i switched to badgeless grill-i hope to get it back late in the week and get a ton of pics!
