Oil Filter Direction?

I feel pretty stupid asking this. Which direction does the oil filter go in? Does the stick point up or down? Long story short, I've got a feeling I put it in the wrong direction.

stick on the filter points up, the base of the filter snaps into the bottom of the filter housing.

I never considered that the filter could be installed upside down !

Ah, thank you. So I did put it in the correct direction. I didn't snap it into the cap though. At least all the oil won't drain out when I go to correct it.
