Since I bought my Cabrio, I been making a list of things that bother me but arn't that grave. The ride is a bit bouncy, the clutch seems to slip at high RPMs when changing gears until I back off on the throttle, and there sounds like an exhaust leak from a fluttering sound coming from the exhaust at times.
I've just ordered a new muffler and cat converter, but I was considering a center mounted rear exhaust, kinda like the R32. The muffler has a single inlet and two outlets for "dual exhaust". I love the look of a center exhaust on an european vehicle. I plan on having a custom exhaust piping built from the downpipe back with the intergration of the muffler and cat. Will there be a big issue of center mounting the exhaust with a bit of welding on moving the hook mounts? I don't want the exhaust scraping across speed bumps. 4" X 9 ¾" Oval
Since its going to require a bit of piping and custom wielding, can anyone recomend a good shop that won't bleed my wallet dry in the Olympia to Tacoma area?
I don't mind leaving the car for a few days at the shop if the price is decent, I still have my gas guzzling V8 gathering dust as my backup.

Id say the bigger problems are the spare tire well and the rear sill... you would have to go over the rear beam in the stock spot and then route it oddly to get around everything. Then after doing all that you're going to have a empty stock cut out and need to make a new one. So it can be done buts its prolly more work than its worth.

You could have the muffler in the stock location and have two outlets bent to exit out the center of the bumper that's how my Cooper S was.

CJ has done the exhaust for 3 of my rabbits, good pricing and everything is custom. I'm sure he can give you a solution.

Thanks for the tips mk1daily, Lunnzz, and 91whitewolfsberg. I'll be sure to check out that guy, but does that mean I have to join the evil that is Facebook?

As for the two jokers, I don't fancy having an old engine in my boot with a vahzuzula looking exhaust sticking out.
