Steering wheel doesn't have as much slop. Go figure.

anyways, got a pair of adjustable struts, see what kind of damage I can do to my Sun Beetle. I've been reading other super threads and I need to get on making a skid plate for my control arms. And I'm debating weather or not to cut out my spare tire are and weld it higher so my tie rods don't bump it. Still don't know If i want to go that low.

Another thing, bought an OG padded steering wheel. trying to get the inside all back to it's orignial feel. Wood grain dash, the shift knob, sun beetle emblem. All that shiz. Wish me luck on finding all that stuff.. haaha

Wanted to get some white wall tires. Anyone have suggestions on size. Wanted a higher profile tire. might just stay with 165, but i'm not set

Got my adjustable struts and lowering springs today, bbout to see how low my super can go, who cares about practicality.

took these right after. It's settled some, the tire is just below the fender. Don't think anyy lower would be very smart. some smaller tires will do the trick

Am i "cool" now that I have camber on my super beetle?

Sweet Super beetle man, personally i hate negative camber, riding on your axles or arms aint for me, and i drive a mk4. i wanna do a bagged super, but i dont think the OEM design is much good for going low, do u find you have a lot of understeer ??

  12. 08-19-2012 12:10 PM #47
I was planning on ordering the lowered sway bar n chit from Topline, but they went on vacation or something like that It was not my intentions to go this long with the camber iin front, I don;t like it much either. I haven't noticed any understeer it feels a lot more controled. On the bagged super topic though, you would have to cut the sh!t out of it to get the bags to fit properly. It'd be a cool thing to do but lot of work. There was a semi thread on here where guy did it, it looks really good, but lots of cutting.

I apreciate the good vibe, even if you said I Fing hate your Super i'd still be happy. I love hearing opinions on my car.

they are not all the way down. On the adjustable strut I can go down 6 more clicks, which is like 3 inches I believe. I went down two, so it's probably a good 2 inches from stock (with lowering springs). I want to see what another click would be and how badly I would be rubbing fenders.

probably a good idea, also be careful with your control arms, if you go too low they'll end up dragging or snagging on something. And that wouldn't be good. Someone had a thread on here where he made a little skid plate for them. His name is gusmanic i believe. lots of good info in that thread btw

So really you just want attention, is what you are saying.

You're twisting what I said. Opinions are what I like. If I want to convert my beetle into a monster truck i will do it, but opinions about my doings are always welcomed. Nice try though

I haven't posted in awhile. I had her running as a daily then some weird tranny problem started coming up. it's confusing so bare with me.

I will start the car in first, from first to second and so on. But when I drive it all day I will be at a stop, I will put the gear in the first gear spot, but it actualy goes into 3rd. and 2 gear acts like its in 4th. if that makes since? It's like 1st and 2nd gear aren't existent. and it's interment. Any similar problems? corrections i was thinking syncros but I know little to nothing about trannys.

Start with the basics, check the shifter bushing under the rear seat, check the tranny fluid level, grease the bushing under the shifter.

  24. 09-27-2012 12:19 AM #59
That'll be a start. Hoping it's nothing serious or if someone who has experienced this had it turn out to be a serious problem. Crossing my fingers

  25. 09-27-2012 08:38 PM #60
Like Jade said... the bushing under the rear seat is super easy to replace and very affordable. But I was having a similar issue and it turned out to be the shift bushing in the tunnel right behind where the shifter drops down in the tunnel.

The bushing is very cheap, and not super difficult to replace.

I really do appreciate it, I knew what I needed to do I just wanted to hear past experiences. Thanks homies
