The car had all the pace it needed (see qualifying and fastest lap of the race), it was just let down by Vettel/RBR strategy misstep.
First of all, red bull got the raw deal from Charlie whiting, not only did he ban the holes in the floor that they WERE planning on running in the race, they also had to plug some vent holes in their brake ducts because those were questionable as well. That being said Vettel did an amazing run in Q3 to put the car on pole. BUT and it is a BIG BUT, SV got leapfrogged by both Hamilton and Alonso on the first pit stop. Then I really didnt see Vettel put heat on Alonso until Alonso's tires were shot to all hell. So yes pit strategy played a part, but I believe the configuration change on the car had a detrimental effect on both RB chassis. Look at Webbo, he didnt do a damn thing all race.

RB got caught out in Canada due to it being a DRS track.

I agree Schumacher is an embarrassment to his former self, but what's so bad about Mercedes that they should leave the sport? Then there would be no engines for Mclaren.
Sorry, I do not agree at all with that part. If anything he has shown that he still deserves to be there. His retirements and lack of point scoring can be directly attributed to mechanical failures and Grosjean (except the Senna incident, which was questionable). After this weekend I am convinced that one of the clauses in Schumi's contract looks like this:

    15. You are not to win any races and will accept to retire by ``mechanical failure`` if you become a threat to the podium

Chance would not even permit what has been going on......lol

    Anyway,

Great time this weekend (was at the track) and overall an interesting race even if the outcome wasn't what I wanted to see.

Had a great time at the race on Sunday, fantastic atmosphere as always. Was down by the pits at the end watching all the guys from Sky and BBC doing their thing in front of the Macca pits. Probably made Sky TV broadcasts as the guy was filming down on our group cheering which eventually turned into a mock Vettel finger wagging lol. After things died down a guy from Mclaren came out to us with the trophy, to let us have a look at it and thanked the us for all the great support they get in Canada... "this ones for you guys" he said. Then got to meet this guy in the pic below (guy hugging LH) and chatted to him all the way back to the subway..

all in all a great day especially considering I wasn't going to go this year and just went last minute leaving 4 am on race day and back home same day, snagged us great seats exit of the hairpin from the scalpers.. up for almost 24 hours straight
